Our commitment to the planet

The choice of a sustainable approach is central to our corporate identity. We believe that in order to ensure a better tomorrow, we have to make a common commitment not only socially and financially, but also environmentally. Therefore, we are consciously committed to:

The value of the paper

We have reached the point where we use only FSC-certified recycled paper for 70% of our product packaging, thus demonstrating our commitment to protecting forests and avoiding deforestation.

Less is more

In 2020, we began a journey to reduce over-packaging, by eliminating unnecessary materials used for the storage and transportation of our products by favouring environmentally sustainable solutions. We started by removing the paper “cluster packs” that wrapped our glass jars, thus saving over 12.5 tonnes of paper each year. Next, we redesigned the squeeze bottles, reducing their size but without changing their weight, so that we could save 30 tonnes of plastic annually. In addition, we have introduced thinner, mono-material packaging for fresh sauces, while maintaining the weight.

The sun makes us good

The installation of a 400-kW photovoltaic system was a further step along our journey of transitioning to the increased use of green and renewable energy.

The power of three in one

Above all else, for us, sustainability has meant efficiency in the use and production of energy. This was the goal that prompted us to invest in the construction of a tri-generator. This is a plant capable of the simultaneous production of electricity, heat for processing and refrigerating fluids, all with a reduced impact on the planet. The system is fuelled by methane, and generates 850 kW of power while saving a significant amount of primary energy.
